How to plan moving house / home?

Very often the whole procedure of changing your apartment and moving to your new place of residence seems to be difficult and you do not know how to start. What should you do first? How to plan the whole removal process? Just read the tips below and changing your house will not appear as a dreadful experience and the whole operation will go smoothly. If you follow the tips below, organising the house move will become as easy as pie!

If you ask yourself a question of 'what to pack first when moving house' we will guide you through the whole issue and will show that it is not a big deal at all! Be prepared at least a couple of weeks before moving house. Think about what you want to take and what things you want to throw away or recycle because you do not need junk. In that first stage, you have a chance to look through the cellar and the attic and consider what is really worth taking. Once you minimise the amount of things, the operation will go way easier.

As the day of your removal approaches, you should think about easy access to both your old and new property. The Removal Company’s van should have the ability to park near the entrance. If this is necessary, make travelling plans. If you are to use public transport, make sure you have checked the timetable and if you are going to use your car, remember to have it serviced and tanked before the day of moving out.

On the moving out day you should have all your things already packed in boxes, garbage bags and marked. Write what’s inside each piece and to which room it should be delivered. Thanks to this, you will avoid the unnecessary mess in your new residence. Also, remember about 'open first box' with the handiest items that you and your family will need, as soon as you arrive at a new place. Organising house move is a vital step towards the whole house removal process.

As for wardrobes, chairs, tables and so on, you can count on the removal company that will dismantle the furniture and re-erect it in your new apartment. If you do not want to take it with you, it is not a problem either. The company will take care of it and take it away. The cost of such procedure is low and you do not need to worry about your old and unwanted furniture.

Once you got rid of the things unwanted, you have packed and marked your belongings you just need to remember about a few details.

  • Make sure all your pets are secure. If you do not know how to transport them, contact the vet as soon as possible.

  • Make sure you have the keys to your new apartment. This will save you a lot of trouble and money.

  • Lock all the windows; turn off the gas, electricity and water. It is also polite to leave your place vacuumed and clean before the new habitants arrive.

  • Check if you have your valuables and documents in a safe place, preferably with you.

It is not hard as you can see, to move house smoothly and without problems. Start your plans at least two weeks before the big day and you will have everything under control!
